PJ Library® Expands in Our Area
Reading should be fun all year long – and that’s especially true for young independent readers. That’s why it’s so exciting to let you know that PJ Library®, implemented in the Greater Palm Beaches by the Friedman Commission for Jewish Education, is expanding to include children through 8 years old. The free Jewish-themed books and music have been delivered to homes of children aged six months to six years old in the Greater Palm Beaches each month since 2008. Now, through the generosity of local donors and the Harold Grinspoon Foundation, hundreds more children will receive the free, age-appropriate books each month – until they turn nine years old. The award-winning books are designed to spark children’s interest in Jewish values, themes and holidays. To sign your child up for this free gift, go to www.cjepb.org and click on the Parents & Families link or contact Amy Bergman, Director of the Jewish Family Life Department at the Friedman Commission for Jewish Education, a.bergman@cjepb.org or (561) 209-2608.
“EAU” BABY! Eau Spa to host baby shower for moms-to-be
On Saturday, September 10 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., Eau Spa guests will have more than one reason to glow. The Forbes Five-Star spa is busy “nesting” in anticipation for some very special guests – moms-to-be. The inaugural event is in honor of expectant mothers and will offer tips about pregnancy-safe products, services, health and fitness. Participation also includes great swag, activities and an opportunity for quality rest and relaxation in the 42,000-square-foot spa wonderland.
“Navigating pregnancy can be tough,” said Catherine Warren, spa and leisure director. “Often in need, and certainly well-deserving of some pampering, pregnant women might not know what products, procedures and exercises are safest and most comfortable for them. We are thrilled to be a valuable resource for quality tips, samples, mini-treatments and more at this special, and important, time in a woman’s life. If moms-to-be aren’t already glowing, we are sure they will be by the time they leave.”
Guests will be treated to samples of pregnancy-safe spa products; prenatal mini treatments; a mini prenatal yoga class; baby shower games and raffles to win spa prizes; a diverse panel of speakers on prenatal health and wellness; gift bags; and discounts on prenatal spa services. Participating vendors to-date include Comphy sheets, Redflower, FarmHouse Fresh and Luka cosmetics. Breakfast bites are included and children aged 5 and older are allowed free access to AquaNuts, the Resort’s over-the-top children’s programming.
Access to the event, which comes with a day pass to Eau Spa, is $25 with the donation of a pack of 120 diapers. The diapers will be donated to the Junior League of Boca Raton’s diaper bank. Without a donation, access to the event and spa facilities is $60.
Eau Spa is located at Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa at 100 South Ocean Blvd., Palm Beach. Reservations are required.
