Spring Break Fun

Spring break for Palm Beach County Public Schools is from March 18-25. There are many great camp options (check out our list here).  However, you may opt to take some time off from work or maybe you are a stay at home parent and need some ideas on where to go with the little ones during the break.

Explore your backyard

People travel from all over the world to enjoy the sun, beach and beautiful weather South Florida has to offer!  When was the last time you were at the beach? I know it is a big pain to haul all that gear and stuff but it really wears the kids out and is a lot of fun. If the thought of sand in your car is too messy, maybe check out a local splash pad or water park. If you are feeling really adventurous head to Central Florida area and check out the many springs they have up there such as Wekiwa or Blue Springs.

Educational Field Trips

Just because school is out doesn’t mean the learning has to stop. Day trips to some area attractions can help teach the kids a few things and have fun while away from the classroom. Some of PB Parenting’s top picks: South Florida Science Center and Aquarium, The Palm Beach Zoo, Schoolhouse Children’s Museum and Learning Center, Sandoway Discovery Center,  Loggerhead Marinelife Center. Learn about animals, science and more all within a 30-40 minute drive of your house. If you are feeling adventurous, you can take the Brightline Train down to the Frost Science Center in Miami  or the Museum of Science and Discovery in Fort Lauderdale and make a full day of it.

Indoor Fun

If it’s a rainy day or maybe you want a break from the outside, check out Adrenaline Entertainment Center! This fun trampoline park has a rock climbing wall, basketball, trapeze and dodgeball. 2 hours of jumping and my kids are worn out for the day! Another great option is ice skating at Palm Beach Skate Zone! It might be warm outside but it is cool and icy inside.

Artsy Fartsy

Have you checked out the newly remodeled Norton Museum? There is a lot to explore and a great way to introduce the kids to many styles of art. Children 12 and under are FREE every day. Also teachers bring your ID and you are FREE too! Museum admission is free to the public on Fridays and Saturdays! (Adults are $18 Monday-Thursday).

Day at Home

Are you always on the go? When was there a day you spent the whole day home? Make it fun, have a movie marathon with their favorite snack!  Have the kids help prepare their favorite meal, take a bike ride around the neighborhood, or make some lemonade and relax in the yard while the kids play.
