Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition Sails into the Cox Science Center and Aquarium

The exhibit will be open for guests between October 12 and April 14, 2023

The maiden and final voyage that still fascinates historians a century later is setting sail at the Cox Science Center & Aquarium! Starting October 12, the Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition is opening at the Center for guests to “board” the infamous ship. Guests will receive a replica boarding pass, assume the role of a passenger, and follow a journey through life on Titanic—from the ship’s construction, life on board and to its fateful sinking.

Exhibition guests will be drawn back in time to April 1912 when the ocean liner embarked on its final journey that made a lasting impact on maritime history and passenger safety. Upon opening, the exhibit will feature authentic artifacts recovered from the site of the renowned shipwreck for public viewing, including fine Filigree rings, champagne bottles and the telegraph that communicated orders to the engine room.

“For decades, Titanic has captivated people in the real stories of heroism, love, fear, and impossible decisions during this tragic moment in time,” said Cox Science Center and Aquarium President and CEO, Kate Arrizza. “The exhibition displays the contemporary effort to recover artifacts, conserve the wreck site for scientific analysis and historical preservation to ensure future generations can admire, contemplate and learn from Titanic.”

Admire the timeless wonders of the Titanicbetween October 12 and April 14, 2023. For more information about the exhibit, please visit coxsciencecenter.org/ [coxsciencecenter.org]

The Cox Science Center and Aquarium’s current indoor/outdoor venue features more than 100 hands-on educational exhibits, a 10,000-gallon fresh and saltwater aquarium, digital planetarium, Pre-K focused “Discovery Center,” 18-hole conservation-themed Mini-Golf Course and quarter-mile-long outdoor science trail. One of its celebrated displays includes “Journey Through the Human Brain,” a permanent exhibit that features the most advanced neuroscience research in the world. The Cox Amphitheater hosts daily live science shows, seasonal laser shows, and special event programming. The Center took on a new name at the end of 2021 when leadership announced a $20 million gift from Palm Beachers, Howard and Wendy Cox, to launch a transformative capital expansion campaign. Shovels will be going in the ground late summer 2023 with a target completion date of 2026. To learn more, visit coxsciencecenter.org/support-us.
